The entire mobility activity process commences by signing of the bilateral agreement for student mobility with the partner institution (University, Military Academy, Faculty). The Military Academy implements mobility with higher education institutions based on signed bilateral agreements, which contain the detailed description of the mobility program. The monitoring process is conducted by a coordinator/mentor appointed by the Military Academy in charge of the students (cadets) participating in the mobility activity. Both institutions exchange evaluation of progress on a regular basis, including a final evaluation report containing elements, explained within the signed agreements between the institutions. The incoming and outbound students (cadets) are obligated to fulfil at least 50% of the maximum number of credits allocated for the particular semester.
The Military Academy strives to contribute to the development and further improvement of the military higher education, by exchange of knowledge, best practices and experience in the field of defense, security and protection and rescue in accordance with the needs to strengthen the capacity to cope with natural disasters and crisis situations.
The Military Academy aims to further expand its cooperation with compatible institutions primarily from the Balkan region and the region of South and Central Europe, based on bilateral agreements with partner and program countries, as well as to establish new partnerships through the already mapped vision and objectives for the purpose of making a significant contribution to the development of military technology, creating a joint effective approach to attaining greater interoperability in the field of defense and security studies. The exchange of knowledge and experience are highly regarded by the Military Academy as means of promoting the opportunities for upgrading the education provided within our institution, as well as a medium for joint collaboration among the teaching and administrative staff in the Military Academy and compatible institutions, such as other Military Academies, Universities of National Defense and Security and Faculties in the field of Crises Management and Rescue. It is worth mentioning that the Military Academy ERASMUS+ office has already established a primary contact and mutual interest with several international institutions, such as the Military Academies of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as the University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia and the University of Alexandar Dupcek from Trencin, Slovakia. Moreover, the Military Academy has implemented two cycles of student (cadet) exchange with the Norwich University in USA, which has significantly attracted the interest for further development of knowledge and experience exchange in the institution. The Academy also has an institutional strategy for implementation of KA1 and KA2 projects, as well as a plan to develop a joint master program with the participation of program countries and joint research projects regarding the improvement of the crisis management systems and building of the capabilities in coping with natural and technological disasters, aiming at determining the security risks and threats, as well as implementation of indicators’ list of security risks and threats. The inclusion of the joint training and short courses has already been implemented through the annual international activity “Summer Campus” for the students (cadets) on the Military polygon “Krivolak” (the largest in the Balkans) and the Cyber Terrorism conferences and seminars for the second-cycle of studies. Our institution’s goal is also to implement the international cooperation and mobility within the second and third-cycle of studies, which will contribute to the improvement of the security system and identification of the risks and threats in the decision-making process.
The Military Academy’s strategy for the implementation of international projects envisages the commencement of research projects, joint second- and third-cycle study programs, and traineeships in the field of defense and security. The institution also aims at exploiting the opportunities of acquiring equipment for conducting research in the field of technical sciences related to security, fire and explosion protection and rescue. The implementation of international cooperation projects within the ERASMUS+ Programme is determined through the strengthening of the capabilities of the Military Academy and the partner Universities (Academies and Faculties) in the research activities and modernization of the teaching activities, as well as the organization of short training for acquiring specialized skills in the field of defense and security.
The main strategy shall be implemented through exchange of teaching and administrative staff, exchange of ideas for new projects, study programs, and all these activities shall result in respective case studies, scientific papers and applied results (books, brochures, manuals and guidelines). The Erasmus+ Office also envisages the implementation of up to two events on an annual basis, gathering all participating and relevant actors of the process, which would serve the significant purpose of evaluation and improvement of the realized mobility activities as well as mapping the way ahead into a more effective and results yielding process and system. Furthermore, the international cooperation strategy of the Military Academy deems crucial the organisation of up to two conferences on the topic of capabilities building in the field of defense and security, through the presentation of identified areas of improvement and modern approach to effective solutions.
