Military academy contributed to the two-day workshop “National Framework and Strategy for Cyber Security and the Functioning of National CERT / CSIRT”

In the period from 02.04. to 03.04. 2018, LTC. Dr. Mitko Bogdanoski, associate professor, and Cpt. Dr. Dimitar Bogatinov, assistant professor, contributed to the two-day workshop on cybersecurity and the Functioning of National CERT / CSIRT, which was held in the “Club of the parliament members (Klub na pratenici)”. The workshop was opened by the Minister of information society and administration,  Mr. Damjan Mancevski and was supported by the Minister of Defense and the Minister of  Interior.

The topic of the workshop was “National framework and strategy for cybersecurity and functioning of national CERT / CSIRT”. The workshop was supported by cybersecurity experts from the Korean Internet and Security Agency (KISA) and the World Bank.

The aim of the workshop was to share the educational and research experiences and practices in the field of cybersecurity with the Republic of Korea and to present the results of the Assessment of the model of maturity of the information security capabilities of the Republic of Macedonia, which was carried out by Oxford University. Also during the workshop was presented the current situation in the Republic of Macedonia and the latest trends in the field of cybersecurity.

Representatives from all relevant state institutions and universities from the Republic of Macedonia took part in the activity.

The Military Academy, which directly participates in the preparation of the National Strategy for Cyber Security, actively participated in all discussions and gave a special contribution during the session “The current situation in the field of cybersecurity in the Republic of Macedonia”, which was moderated by LTC. Dr. Mitko Bogdanoski, associate professor, as well as the session “New trends in the field of cybersecurity”, where the achievements and contribution of the Military Academy in the cyber security segment were presented.
