The Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski” – Skopje in cooperation with the NATO ACT Innovation Hub, Norfolk, Virginia has launched a call for the most innovative solution aimed at improving NATO effectiveness. This competition is a call for participants interested in offering and presenting their concepts for innovative solutions to modern problems NATO is facing.
The NATO Innovation Challenge, launched in cooperation with the Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski”, Skopje and the NATO Innovation Hub, is a call for innovative solutions to identify, warn, assess and manage biological threats to protect NATO forces, Allies and civilian entities.
The topic of the challenge is related to the emergence of contagious biological agents, the occurrence of which is preceded by incidents which may be intentionally created, as well as arising from natural disasters and mutations. The impact of the bio-response topic has always been enormous, and its importance has only grown since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has immensely affected global economy, particularly evident in the past few years.
Candidates interested in participating in the challenge may register on the official website of the NATO Innovation Hub until 27 May 2022 and submit abstracts by 28 May 2022. On 28 of June 2022 an official pitch day has been planned, as well as the Challenge award ceremony.
The NATO Innovation Challenge offers participation to all interested entities from the defense sector and related institutions, private companies, the NGO sector in the Republic of North Macedonia, and all the countries in the world. The winners of the challenge will have the opportunity to improve their visibility, as well as to take part in the development of future NATO concepts, doctrine, standards, requirements, capability development, whereas the best three candidates are also going to be awarded a monetary prize.
