In the period 12.12 – 13.12.2017 a two-day workshop was held on the characteristics and possibilities for improving the use of advanced distance learning (ADL) in the everyday process of education at the Military Academy.
During the workshop, two representatives from NATO DEEP who are certified ADL experts for the ILIAS ADL Platform and also a part of the “Cuiavian” University from Poland took part.
During the workshop, representatives of the DEEP represented the ILIAS Platform, which is the official platform for ADL in NATO. The presentation included a demonstration of the features and possibilities of the platform, the presentation of the courses they developed, the way the system is used in NATO, and the possibility of migrating and using courses that exist on NATO servers.
The Military Academy presented the MODELE based platforms that currently are used by the professors as well as the cadets and students.
Upon completion of the presentations, and according to the developed discussions during the workshop, the further steps in the cooperation between the experts and the staff at the Military Academy were defined. In accordance with the agreed, in the next period, experts are engaged through the NATO DEEP program to conduct workshops and training related to administering the ILIAS ADL Platform, but also training for the teaching and administrative staff of the Military Academy for creating and managing e-courses
